Tapuchips & Chef Eyal Shani's Sweet Chili Flavor Potato Chips

תפוצ'יפס סדרת השף אייל שני צ'ילי מתוק
Back in July I told you about Chef Eyal Shani teaming up with Elite's Tapuchips to create a "chef series" line of potato chips. Their first two flavors were Sour-Cream & Wild Mushrooms and Balsamic Vinegar & Onion Jam. I wasn’t ultra impressed with either of those flavors but when I saw the new flavor; Sweet Chili, it seemed more like a potato chip flavor I would enjoy. I like sweet chili sauce on roasted and fried potatoes. I even read on Cook Kosher.com that her favorite dip for potato levivot  is Thai Sweet Chili sauce. In my mind potatoes and sweet chili sauce are "old friends" so I was willing to give Chef Eyal Shani and Tapuchips another chance to win me over with this new potato chip.

One thing I really liked about the Eyal Shani Tapuchips I tasted in July was how crispy they were. They were way crunchier than Tapuchip's regular line of potato chips but not quite as crispy as Kettle Cooked Potato Chips, still I really liked how crunchy they were. Like the first two "chef series" Tapuchips this new sweet chili flavored chip is also extra crispy and slightly thicker than other potato chips, I really liked that. You can eat them on their own as a snack or if you'd like you can actually use them to scoop up whatever dip you fancy pairing them with.

I enjoyed this Sweet Chili Flavored Potato Chip but on its own after a few chips I thought it was a bit too much chili for me. When I ate them with dips and spreads I liked them even more. I thought they added a lot of flavor to the spreads and made for a very tasty snack/meal.

Bottom Line: Of the three flavored chips in the Eyal Shani "chef series" line of Tapuchips this new Sweet Chili Potato Chip is the one I liked best. Yes they are quite hot 'n spicy but that’s what you would expect from a sweet chili flavored chip. When I ate them with a dip or spread I really enjoyed them. If you don’t enjoy spicy chili flavored snacks this is not the chip for you. They are super crunchy and slightly thicker than other potato chips that’s a good thing in my opinion. I will likely buy them again in the future.
